Located in historic downtown Wilson, the Imagination Station Science & History Museum’s mission is to provide hands-on learning on a variety of science subjects. The Museum features interactive exhibits that are fun for all ages.
Visit the new Sphere Exhibit where you can learn everything there is to know about the earth we live on. Can you out run a bear, bat or cheetah? Try your luck with “Race the Wild’ to see if you are faster or slower than a variety of animals. Think you’re strong? Try the Simple Machine Exhibits to see if you can lift 100 pounds. Is your health important to you? See how big human teeth are as you learn about your body or try to figure out the optical illusion with the “Mirror Magic” exhibit. Is there an animal lover in your family? The Museum slithers ‘n slides with their live animal collections. A favorite is the Blue Tongue Skink. Come discover your favorite!
Do you have pre-K kids in your family? Then enjoy the new “Curiosity Corner.” This room is designed as a cozy atmosphere for the little ones to explore x-rays, nature, movement and more!
Would you like to learn about another science topic? Don’t forget to ask about free public programs, Fabulous Fridays (free admission to the museum) and group presentations. How about freezing your group with liquid nitrogen experiments or giving them a little scare with Pop, Fizz or Boom during a talk about matter?
The Imagination Station Science & History Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m, Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is closed on Mondays.
